Weekend two is quickly approaching us after numerous cancellations! Windy weather is once again forcast so remember the morning weetabix!. This weekend we are hosted at BYC in Belfast Lough.

This weekend we are still at the base of our training triangle, boat handling. It has been a long time and as seen on many social media posts lots of you have been out on the water over the Christmas period! This is great to see!

Take a look at the below video:

What is the one thing you think that could improve this upwind leg?

The questions for this week!

  • BYC is on Belfast lough, what wind direction is most sailable and why?

  • What are the materials of rope your kicker is made from (this includes inner core and sleeve)

  • How do we stop the boat from going into irons?

  • What brand is your toothbrush?

  • Can you tie a figure of 8 and a bow line?

This weekend we will focus on getting as much time out on the water as possible, please prepare in advance for this as it could be cold! Remember we have 2 spaces still up for grabs for the Celtic Cup, more details to follow on this.

P.s. bring a bit of rope for the briefing

See you all Saturday ready and rigged 10am!
