Squad Selection Weekend at RNIYC!

Hi everyone! We are entering a new season of winter training, time to shake the dust off the cold weather kit and start preparing for what will hopefully be able to shape up for a strong winters training.

Irrespective of if you are aiming to be on the squad or not this weekend will start us thinking about our aims for the winter and lay a few of the on the water foundations that we can use going forward.

This Saturday looks excellent for sailing so prepare for a long day on the water, as always we expect you to be rigged and in the briefing room at 10am (not changed).

Before the weekend I want you to watch these videos, have make a list in your sailing notebooks, what are they doing well? what should they improve on? what can i learn from this for my own sailing? We will go over these at some point during the weekend.

Finally I want you to answer these questions:

  • What is the forecast this weekend?

  • What time is low tide?

  • What colour are the socks you are wearing when writing this answer?

  • Whats your aim for this weekend?

  • Whats your aim for this winter?

Looking forward to seeing you all bring and early on Saturday morning!
